Life Changing Moments

Immigration, PhD, and work in Fortune 500 companies
Anastassia emigrated from Russia to Germany at age 21, equipped with a master’s degree in linguistics from Moscow Lomonosov University. PhD from the Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn at the age of 24, making her one of the youngest recipients of the doctorate degree in Germany. She funded her studies of psychology and linguistics while working at Deutsche Welle and translating for the courts and police. Between 1997 and 2013, she worked at Munich Re, McKinsey, Daimler AG, T Mobile, Deutsche Telekom AG, and Qualcomm Inc.
Creation of the first technology advisory company
Anastassia created AU Ventures, focusing on data technologies, including cybersecurity and machine learning. She sits on boards of directors and advisory boards of companies such as Dun&Bradstreet, Kaspersky Labs, Star Alliance, Intel, censhare AG, easyJet PLC, FrightOne, Cyberion, riskQ, and Diligent Inc. She educated multiple corporate boards on introducing and developing cybersecurity governance.
Wirecard fraud
Anastassia Lauterbach’s tenure on the Wirecard board was marked by her efforts to introduce transparency and accountability. Despite her best efforts, the company’s deep-rooted issues could not be fully addressed as they started decades before Anastassia joined the board of directors. Once the fraud scandal at Wirecard came to light, she faced significant personal and professional consequences, including losing clients and enduring serious online harassment.
In Feb 2024, Anastassia provided a two-day testimony on what she knew about Wirecard on behalf of the criminal trial of Markus Braun, former Wirecard CEO, and two of his colleagues.

Anastassia became a business coach and mentor to global CEOs and top executives, specialising in resilience, crisis management, creating sustainable personal brands, and anything digital while acting as a shadow advisor behind those you might know from conference stages and newspapers.
Launch of AI Edutainment and Hall of Fame
Anastassia released the first volume of an AI educational series for the whole family, focused on quantum technologies and AI hardware. The Business Excellence Institute in Dublin, Ireland, inducted her into the Hall of Fame for Business Excellence.

Anastassia understands the risks of serving on boards like no one else, as she suffered from the downfall of Wirecard AG, a celebrated FinTech in Europe. Anastassia was an enabler in uncovering the state of affairs at Wirecard, but due to circumstances beyond her control, she was put into the spotlight that forced her to leave Germany – the country where she lived for 30 years. Anastassia could not publicly speak about her days on the board of Wirecard before she was called into the witnessing stand at the criminal trial against Wirecard executives. The prosecutor’s office has thanked her for her role after the public hearing.
